Team

Tracy Trent
Managing Director
Mr. Trent has spent 18 years focused on the application of embedded computing and wireless networks to industrial applications. As the CEO and founder of Proximetry, an innovator in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sector, Trent was focused on solutions in Aviation, Rail, Logistics, and Utilities/Smart Cities. With the sale of Proximetry in 2016, Mr. Trent formed SQ3, a bespoke technology/strategy consultancy supporting large global enterprises, such as General Electric, as well as new and emerging players in the IIoT space. In his support to GE, Mr. Trent was a key driver in shaping GE’s EdgeLINC,TM and fusing the solution with the SAS Event Stream Processing (ESP) platform, and other GE Transportation software solutions. Prior to founding Proximetry in 2005, Mr. Trent was president and CEO of Vytek/Stellcom, a consultancy focused on wireless product development, which was later acquired by CalAmp (Nasdaq: CAMP). Mr. Trent’s other managment experience includes serving as the senior vice president and group manager of SAIC’s e-Business Solutions where he managed a number of SAIC’s emerging e-commerce businesses, including the Automotive Network eXchange (ANX), a networking solution for the automotive industry. Prior to that, Mr. Trent was the group manager of SAIC’s health solutions organization, which provided systems integration and consulting services to some of the nation’s leading health providers. Mr. Trent initially joined SAIC in 1993, serving as the vice president of marketing for its systems integration organization. Before SAIC, Trent held various business development roles at Digital Equipment Corporation and Sun Microsystems. Mr. Trent holds a Master’s degree in Management of Technology from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
Clay Shinn
Managing Director
Clay Shinn brings over 25 years of experience in designing and delivering over 250 software products for many different types companies and industries. The products and solutions he has worked on ranged from mobile apps; IOT platforms. enterprise applications; SaaS applications; web portals; video on demand systems; ecommerce systems; imaging systems; and embedded software products. Clay was previously the VP of Engineering and CTO at Neubloc and was responsible for operations and project/technical oversight ofengineers, consultants and managers in seven offices in the US, Poland, Argentina and Ecuador. Lead technical innovations and product strategies for our customers. Directly manage architecture teams responsible for oversight of all projects in the company ranging from .Net, J2EE, PHP, Python and Flex applications to embedded systems running on numerous platforms. Prior to Neubloc, he was Sr. Vice President/CTO at CalAmp’s Solution Division, running the software applications division. He was a senior member of executive team responsible for managing the P&L; of three business units that delivered customer solutions and CalAmp products ranging from Enterprise Portals, Digital Media Systems, IP Telephony, Public Safety, Mobile Applications and Network Infrastructure implementations Education: Bachelor degrees in Mathematics/Computer Science and Economics from the University of California at San Diego.
